The AFM Education Committee is holding a Meeting for Learning about aspects of Baltimore Yearly Meeting (BYM). There will be about six speakers from AFM – our very own Friends – talking about some of their programs, activities and initiatives. This will be a blended meeting with some Friends at the AFM meetinghouse and some Friends on Zoom.

Planned topics include a short history and theology of BYM, and information about a workshop on Testimony that will be presented at the 2022 Annual Session. The structure of the yearly meeting and opportunities to participate in its work will be explained and there will be an introduction to the antiracism heritage of the yearly meeting, Further information will be provided about the current antiracism activities and BYM peace and social concerns. The AFM Youth will present a quick introduction to BYM camps and the experiences related to participating in Junior Young Friends (JYFs). There will be a sharing about this year’s plans for the Annual Session.
